Supporting the FAA’s UAS Declaration of Compliance program
The Federal Aviation Administration is implementing technology to manage the complex regulatory environment of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Carimus designed and developed scalable web applications supporting the FAA’s UAS Declaration of Compliance program, enabling administrators to manage regulatory compliance among drone manufacturers and pilots.
Support compliance within a rapidly evolving drone industry
Create a platform for managing compliance declarations
Managing compliance in a growing drone ecosystem
The FAA is responsible for regulating the safe integration of unmanned aerial vehicles into U.S. airspace. As the drone industry expanded, the agency needed systems capable of supporting regulatory oversight while enabling manufacturers of small unmanned aircraft to declare compliance with federal design and production rules.
Carimus partnered with the FAA to design and develop a web-based portal supporting the UAS Declaration of Compliance program. The project included discovery, UX strategy, architecture design, and full application development. The resulting platform enables manufacturers to submit compliance declarations while allowing FAA administrators to review submissions, manage compliance data, and oversee participation in the program.
